Chicken Pie Puff Pastry

Any type of pastry crust or pie shell filled with a tasty chicken filling is known as chicken pie. You only need pastry, a suitable pie dish, chicken, and any flavorings and vegetables you have in your refrigerator to make your own chicken pie. A chicken pie is a famous type of pie in the world. It originated from Greece.

Making the Pie Dough

  • 500 grams Flour
  • 250 grams Butter
  • Salt
  • 1 cup Water

Making the Filling

  • 600 grams Chicken
  • 1 Onion
  • Salt
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 tsp Chicken Seasoning
  • Oil
  • ¼ cups Chopped Onion
  • 1 tsp Chopped Ginger
  • 2 Chopped garlic Cloves
  • 1 cups Shredded Cabbage
  • ½ cups Shredded Carrot
  • 1 tbsp Pepper Powder
  • 2 tbsp Flour
  • ½ cups Water
  • ½ cups Chicken Broth
  • 1 tsp Paprika / Chili Powder
  • ¼ cups Chopped Spring Onion


Making Pie Dough

  • Take a bowl and add flour and salt to it. Then mix it.
  • Then add butter to the bowl.
  • Mix well until it looks like breadcrumbs.
  • Then add water and mix. Do not knead dough.
  • It cuts into two pieces, cover well and refrigerate for 30 minutes or more.

Making the Filling

  • First, take a pot and add chicken.
  • Cut the onion to small cubes.
  • Add them into the chicken.
  • Then add salt, chicken seasoning and ater and mix well
  • Nxt, this cooks for 10 minutes.
  • Shread the chicken with a fork.
  • Add oil into a pot.
  • After heating oil, add onion, ginger, garlic, shredded chicken, cabbage, carrot, chicken seasoning,and flour.
  • Then, all together mix well and add chicken broth and water an cook well.
  • Then add paprika powder, spring onion and cook well.
  • Now, the mixure is allowed to cool completely.
  • Then, take the pie dough and cut it into medium/large squares.
  • Flat them and trim edges with pizza cutter or knife.
  • Put the filling on the pieceand fold it into half.
  • Then, dip fork in flour for easy sealing.
  • Brush the pie pieces with egg wash.
  • Bake them at 175°C for 30 minutes.
  • Now, they can be served.
